A Time to Give Thanks... and Adopt!

by Sophia Sanchez on November 05, 2019

Now that Halloween is officially over, we are in full holiday mode.  This November we would like to pay tribute to everything we are thankful for this holiday season.  We launched the Furr-bulous brand just five months ago.  And in those five months the reception has been overwhelming, in the most positive way possible.  Our Furr-bulous family continues to grow daily and we're truly humbled by the relationships we have made with like-minded people who not only support our cause to give back, but who truly share and believe in our passions.  The statistics for homeless dogs in this country are harrowing, but our specific niche in the pet industry has proven to us there truly are selfless people in this world.  It is people like all of you who give us hope for a better future.

In our five months in business, we have been able to donate nearly $2000 to shelters across America.  We absolutely would not have been able to do this without your support.

We are especially thankful for organizations like Last Hope Animal Rescue.  And this month with any purchase, a portion of each sale will be donated to this wonderful rescue.  Last Hope formed in 2004 and focuses on pulling animals from local kill shelters whom are essentially, out of time.  Their mission is to save as many homeless, abused, abandoned, hard to place and neglected animals in the hopes of placing them into the loving and forever homes they deserve.

What we love most about Last Hope is their true dedication to the animals in their care.  They are fully volunteer-based, which means you can rest assured that any donation you make will go towards the animals in their care.  In addition, each animal comes fully vetted and temperament tested to ensure they go to the right home. And because of their very thorough screening process for all potential adopters, their return rate is exceptionally low!

Let’s meet a couple of their adoptables!

This pretty girl is Kallie.  Can you be her forever home?

Kallie is a total love bug who loves everyone she meets, including children.  She loves to swim, loves car rides to the park and exploring in the tall grass!  She is eager to please and learns new commands very quickly.  She has all the basics down, and learned “drop it” within minutes during a game of tug o’war.  She has a lot of energy and needs a lot of exercise to keep her physically and mentally stimulated. She will do best in an active home and could potentially make a great running partner for her human.  Kallie does not however, do well with other animals. She will need a home with a 6ft fence because she is strong and can easily jump a shorter one. She is potty trained and comes fully vetted, spayed and microchipped.

And this sweet baby is Kaia Carson.

Kaia has had a tougher time finding the right home for her and as such, has been with Last Hope for a few years now.  She was adopted in 2018, but returned shortly after because she didn’t take well to a male in the home. Unfortunately Kaia cannot be in a home with other animals or children.  And she can sometimes be skeptical of new people, until she has had time to get to know them. She is also a very strong girl who needs a human equally as strong. Because of her distrust in other animals, she is currently taking classes to teach her that having other dogs nearby is okay and not as scary as she perceives them to be.  Despite her challenges however, Kaia is a volunteer favorite who loves to snuggle in her cozy sweaters and giving kisses. She is incredibly eager to please and is ready to find her forever home.

Both of these girls, and so many others like them, have a specific set of needs that may make them harder to place in the right home.  But their reactivity should not deter you from getting to know these beauties because they will be the perfect addition to the right set of humans.  They simply need a stable home that will be devoted to their continued training and in exchange, they’ll love you unconditionally.  Could that be you?
